It works, but the springs are weak.
I bought these for my baby's pants with functional drawstrings. The thought was that it would be easier for him to unbutton his pants and pull them up since he couldn't tie them yet. They work but the springs are a little weak for the task. You can move it up and down the cord without even pressing the tension release button. They do a "sort of" job, and it's easy enough for him to pull them up as needed.
