Review on πŸ”ͺ Efficient Cutting Convenience: CRC 03400 Truetap Cutting Bottle by Matt Welch

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality cutting/cutting oil but the bottle sucks.

Good cutting/threading oil at a great price. It's thick, sticky, slippery enough but not too slippery. Basically what you would expect from a cutting/threading oil. I have no complaints about the oil but the bottle it comes in sucks. The bottle is good but the spout is worse. It's a square type that leaks when you look at it. If it lands on its side, you have an oil slick on the bench. The spout itself is too short and does not reach anything, definitely does not bother anything. Forget using it on a drill press. After use, oil can remain where the tip enters the top and cause a mess. Anyway, I think most readers will have an idea of the outlet I'm describing. It sucks, especially for oil. Prepare for another dosing bottle. As a result, the oil - 5 stars, the bottle - without enthusiasm 2 stars. FWIW, I've found that old bottles of rooster sauce work well. Aside from the lettering, it's crisp, the spout is more like a cone, the tip can actually hit the dots without blocking your view, and MUCH less mess because the tip doesn't fold into a valley, just up/ goes down.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
