This USB connector comes in a drawstring pouch. It's nice to have it there because it stores and protects the USB port. The connection cable is braided wire. It has a USB port that plugs in nicely to the side of my computer. There are many options including USB, memory cards and an HDMI cable. I mostly use USB and a memory card reader. I find the card reader extremely useful when downloading images from my camera. Since my new computer doesn't have any of these useful ports, I had to connect something to it. I have to use this port quite often and it's a lot easier than trying to transfer images wirelessly or even via email. Everything works as it should and is transferred without problems. I have a feeling these ports are totally for Macs these days.
