Review on Thread Kits 1221 M1010 Repair Kit by James Nedumaran

The product is similar to the Helicoil brand which I have used many times. This worked, but I had to lubricate the threads before inserting the threaded spool into the drilled/drilled hole because the friction was too much and it straightened the shank used to screw in the threaded insert. This rendered the first insert unusable because the insert was not yet on the ground. After lubricating the next use it worked perfectly. I had to wash the grease off with brake cleaner after inserting and then coat the insert with threadlock with a cotton swab. After repairing the threads, I reassembled the part I was working on and tightened the fastener to 59 feet. -lbs, no problem. The repair went well. Neat repair. I would normally use Time-Sert products for thread repair but this is an unusual size for a screw/thread pitch and Time-Sert was due in a few days and time was of the essence. I have since purchased Time-Sert for this app. This is a decent product, apart from the somewhat weak insert shaft. I would use it again.
