No instructions were included but it was very simply to manipulate, easy to work with. We laid the fabric out on the concrete to get the folds to relax. We positioned it over the area we were installing it, started at one end and worked beam by beam to the other side.Used the Easy Gardener Sun Screen Wood Fasteners to install as well as screws with washers. I would have definitely used just the Wood Fasteners if I would have know how easy and great they were to use not to mention less expensive.We have only had it up a short while but it has survived wind (up to 60 miles per hour - it position on the lower side of our home so it has some protection, rain and 1" hailstones. The temperature difference under the pergola since installation is quite noticeable and appreciated. Even the wild animals that like to visit us like the new shade under the pergola. But my dog now has to go farther into the yard to sun herself. : )
