I have several scales for different applications, most of which are food related. I look at several things when ordering scales, the top items on my checklist are ease of use, accuracy, cleanliness, readability, storage and options. These scales have proven themselves in all areas. Simplicity. Like most digital scales on the market, they are very easy to use. Click, tare and read. Nothing easier than that. Accuracy. Most people evaluate accuracy first, and if you only have one scale, it's the first. Bust, since I have a scale that reads to 0.0001g, I don't care that they only weigh to 1.0. When weighing or researching spices or additives, I use a different scale. I use this for larger items and am happy it weighs up to 22lbs. Scales that weigh "more accurately" can only weigh small amounts, perhaps 100 or 200 grams (about 4-8 ounces). If I'm weighing flour or a piece of steak, +/- 1 or 2 grams won't affect how the food turns out as long as you're looking at less than 1/10th of an ounce. As long as this type of scale doesn't fluctuate a lot, +/- 5 grams or so, it's fine and this scale is as accurate as I would have expected. Washable - Smooth stainless steel finish with no buttons to get dirty. Thanks to this in the trap it is very easy to keep food safety clean. Easy to read - Smaller scales will obscure the display if you place a large container on it, and if you weigh 20 pounds you will likely be using a large container. This scale is large enough for the display to be visible. Storage - Although it is large, it is thin and very easy to store without taking up much space. Options - as many as I need except one; the ability to use AC power as well as batteries. No big deal, just that I'd love to spend long days in the kitchen. It has an auto shut-off so the battery life is good. I won't use other options like a counter or weight for jewelry for this. 7 different weight units are just right for this scale. Overall, this is an excellent scale for my purposes. I recommend.
