This is the third mouse of this model that I have had. For the past five or six years, I have been utilizing two separate sets of batteries. According to my estimation, the service life without maintenance is three years; one of them stopped working after six years, and the other needs to be disassembled to get the dust out of it. The first mouse suffered damage to its right microcontact; put it to the side as a spare part. The scrolling function on the second one has ceased working. It turned out to be a whole lump of felt; however, it was not possible to completely remove the dust without disassembling the mouse; however, the wheel still rotates tightly. I pulled out as much of the dust as I could; however, it was not possible to remove all of the dust. I did not disassemble it; rather, I set it aside for use at a later time and purchased a replacement. Advantages: horizontal scrolling, rapid scrolling, perfect positioning on any surface, optimal weight, and dependability with a suitably long service life there are two extra side buttons (but I use only one - back) Flaws:\sExpensive
