The mat has the appearance of real rubber with a distinctive smell of vulcanization, so it's a steal for the size of the product. Molded rubber can be expensive for large parts. The design is confusing, with slots in the shoulder straps seemingly there to trap and hold debris. If the weave were solid at the top it would be much more hygienic and easier to clean and I think the slits should help cut the rug into equal pieces down to the middle of the weave. I really don't see any solution other than taking the pressure washer apart and hoping for the best, but I doubt the crevices will ever clear. I use the rug as a cushion in my deep sink and it drains well. The bottom has a ribbed finish to give it a little restraint. I expect the sodium percarbonate bath to be a good weekly ritual.
