I chose a DSLR after being frustrated with the long lag of a traditional digital camera. There is a slight lag, but not enough to bother me. This camera is very easy to use. I usually use different modes to take the same shot to see the differences. Panorama mode is the best. You snap a shot, then turn left or right and the viewfinder shows you exactly where to stop to align the perfect shot alongside the one you just took. This is a really cool feature. You can do it with 2 or 3 shots and set it up to go left or right. I was always amazed at how much you can do in such a small package. I bought a case for it to carry extra batteries and a charger, but you can also put it in your purse. If, like me, you carry a large bag. It's not as small as a camera phone, but it's not huge either. This is the best compact camera I have ever bought and the results are amazing!
