Review on Modern Retractable 48 Inch Fandelier Ceiling Fan Light: Remote Control, Silent Motor, Dimmable and Chandelier Design by Adrienne Johnson

First of all, the seller was very quick to respond to my emails. And after installing one of the two 48 inch fans I bought it works fine. However, there are some serious caveats. First, the instructions that came with the 1st fan are completely out of date regarding the installation of the lighting kit. It was not mentioned that the LED lamp is attached with magnets. The instructions said they attach with screws. After that, the installation went smoothly. Now for the seriously disappointing aspects. As already mentioned, the light is absolutely NOT dimmable. The seller both admitted it wasn't dimmable and tried to convince me that dimmable means you can change the 'color' of the light. I have probably tried in vain to explain that the terms "dimmable" and "color change" cannot be used interchangeably. The last problem with light is that you can't set the light to a specific color. Every time you turn the light on and off, it changes the color of the light, from soft white to cool white to daylight. If you turn on the light and it's not the color you want, you'll have to turn it off and on again until you get the color you want. Bad design? The second major disappointment has to do with the style of the fan. One of the things that drew me to the fan was the flying, saucer-shaped "floating" dome that sits over the main fan housing. The same photos that show this lantern also show the logos in 2 places with "minkave" written on them. The resulting fans had no "floating dome" or logos. I added 2 photos. One is from my installed fan and the other is from displays. I have sent the same photos to the seller and he insists they are the same fans except they have admitted the logos are not there. It's up to you to decide if the two fans look the same. If they weren't installed in guest rooms I would seriously consider returning them.
