This is a good addition to my arsenal of sewing tools. I don't find this tool as handy as a regular seam ripper, maybe my eye coordination isn't as good as some other reviewers. With this tool, it is easier to fold the whole fabric or cut it yourself. This is good for long runs when you are tired of the more common type of seam ripper or when you can't get another seam ripper in the seam and need a very sharp point to get in. It works very well for jeans. and heavy fabric. It stays pretty sharp. I think it could be sharpened if it gets dull and a regular seam can't be sharpened easily. I make many mistakes.
