Try it with vinegar! for Household Use

I have used these dryer sheets for many years. I think this is the first purchase from this seller, but as far as I can tell this style of dryer sheets is the same regardless of the seller. If I had to rate dryer sheets solely on static electricity reduction, I would probably give them two or three stars. Dryer sheets seem to make some difference (i.e. at least some reduction in static electricity). Then it dawned on me that I could use these sheets in a variety of ways. Now I douse them with vinegar and sometimes put a few drops of essential oil on the inside of the sheets. Using dryer sheets in this way significantly reduced static electricity (although it took trial and error to use enough vinegar) and added a pleasant, usually faint scent of essential oils. I tried this process with these dryer sheets for several reasons. (1) They are 100% lint free. (2) I've never turned laundry inside out, so the essential oil doesn't come into direct contact with the laundry and is therefore unlikely to stain anything. (3) These dryer sheets wash easily and well (especially compared to wool dryer balls); They don't seem to need washing very often, but I like to know that if I apply too much essential oil, it's easy to rinse off. Vinegar effectively reduces static electricity. As a rule, the smell of vinegar disappears when the laundry dries. Several times I thought I smelled a very faint smell of vinegar in the dried laundry. Adjusting how much vinegar I spray on dryer sheets, especially compared to load size and likely drying time, seems to fix the issue.
