I bought this coat for my bichon after seeing it on another bichon. My dog loves to play in the snow. But with all his fur coats, huge snowballs were stuck to his legs and chest. I would have to break out the dryer and melt all the snow, which would take at least an hour. Also, I would have to comb it or it would be covered in tangles. That's what attracted me the most about this coat. Since he bought this, no more giant snowballs are stuck to his fur. I also bought because of the heat. I also tried it in the rain. I had just taken care of him the day before and it was raining. I said let me try. Worked great. It stayed dry and I spread my coat out on a towel to dry. Sometimes we're out in the cold for hours and I wanted to make sure he was warm enough. We always brought blankets and used one of his coats, but he still shivered. Not with this coat. I still use the duvet, but now it's more over it than under it. Great snow coat. Keeps you warm and dry and is also lightweight.
