I was buying a similar item for our family van from the dealership when I saw it and found it so useful I decided to buy it for my commuter truck. This one is perfect for that. It's smaller than the one I bought for the van, but it's perfect for commuting as I rarely have anyone in the car besides me or maybe a single passenger. The inside looks waterproof and the seams are fully taped, not just stitched. together (which makes it no longer fully waterproof). I've learned that this is IMPORTANT as I've used these bins as puke bags and also as emergency potties for kids on long trips (yes you can easily wash it out afterwards so it should be totally waterproof with the seams taped). ) My only real complaint is that this one doesn't have the weighted floor that my other one has, which I found very useful when I want it to sit on the floor or console rather than hanging from the backrest.
