The original starter motor in my '96 Grand Cherokee has finally worn out. I knew this was going to happen because I had long start-up periods for several months before finally receiving an OBD2 code indicating a fuel pump issue. I replaced the fuel pump in May and the starter finally died in August. This is a direct replacement except both nuts holding the wiring are a slightly different size than the OEM starter. Installation is a little tricky because the transmission coolant lines are right in front of one of the bolts, but that's not the starter's fault. It only took 3 days to install but so far so good and the cost was less than 1/3 the cost of a part from a local auto parts store. Unfortunately Revain lost the first batch and had to send another one back and it took 7 days before I finally got this starter instead of 2. Not the product's fault of course, but it bothered me for a few days.
