This works great now that I've finally installed it. I ended up microwaving it along with a cup of hot water for about 40 seconds. I can't say I recommend this method because of course there's a chance it will melt/go bad, but it worked for me! It's soft and gritty, and my cold hands feel a lot more comfortable than my frozen steering wheel.
