Review on πŸ”Š Cobra HG S300 Highgear Noise-Cancelling Speaker with Enhanced External Sound by John Vann

Revainrating 4 out of 5

You're listening to the radio

The first thing you need to know is that this speaker is a good size. If you're looking for a small external speaker to make listening easier, this isn't the one. I have a Jeep Wrangler that never has a roof or doors. Therefore, when driving on the Autobahn, the standard CB speaker was useless. So I bought a small external speaker from Radio Shack that fits in a cup holder (I told you it was small) and it worked great off-road and at low speeds, but on the freeway I almost had to bring it to my ear to hear it . Still needed an upgrade. Bought Cobra HG S300. Like I said, it's more than you think. So plugged it in to see how loud it was, and it was loud enough while on the E-Brake, but not very stable or practical. Coiled on the cross member between the front seats. And in this position I have no hearing problems at ANY speed. Usually with CB you have to turn the volume down a bit because it's too loud. Noise canceling is useless as it reduces volume, might be ok in a closed cockpit but useless for me. And it doesn't look like the picture. If you're looking for a speaker so you can hear CB, this is the one for you. If you want to crank up the volume or are short on space, this isn't for you.
