Oh my god my 9 year old loves this. It's a fuller, not a real sewing machine so no thread needed. But it's great because kids can use it without help. And if you run out of the felt that came in the kit, you can get plain felt from Walmart or here at Revain and it works great with the machine. My daughter loves to draw a pattern on felt and then sew along the drawn lines (felt). She has a lot of fun with it and I love that it keeps her entertained and I don't have to help her refill it every few minutes like kids and sewing machines do. It also has a large clear plastic safety rim around the needle to prevent children from being stung.
