I upgraded a Kenwood head unit with 2 USB ports. I used a space and installed an additional port. It worked great until Kenwood broke in less than a year. I will never have a Kenwood again! Then I installed Alpine Halo 11. This deck has a USB connection. I have already upgraded my USB channel to version 3.0 for Kenwood. That was my direct connection. I've decided to replace the original USB/2.5 AUX port with an HDMI/charger. I'm using an iPhone without a 2.5 port, so I don't need it. This is an EXACT fit. The original connector will pop out and snap into place just like the original. The USB on this Jam is for charging only. Now my passengers have the option to charge their phones and I can charge my GoPro and whatever without plugging it into my main unit. Mirroring my phone used to be an absolute chore. I really love it!
