The problem is not so much with the product as it is with the condition. This is the second device I've received with the sprayed stuff on. The first one I ordered even had a dent on the top but I sent it back. Some cords look like they've been used before, as does the TV's security box. The bag with the remote control has been opened and I even have the instruction manual for the DVD player in the box! I just have a feeling that when you're paying that kind of money for what appears to be a new item, it should look like new. I think the manufacturer is the problem because I ordered from two different places and got the same results. I decided to leave this one after connecting because it actually works. I used to pay for the TV Guardian app through Dish Network, which worked 10x better and covered every TV in the house, but since Dish doesn't care about its customers, they removed the app and will no longer carry it. . A few years ago I bought a VCR with the same TV Guardian technology built in, but now I have to pay double the cost of the VCR just to get the same standalone technology that this unit offers.
