I take leather collars because they need to be more durable, hardly a month has passed and one is decaying and the other split in half into a lease ring. My dog (a 58 lb mixed breed about the size of an average Boxer) was on a leash and when he saw the cat and pulled on the leash the ring portion on the back of the collar especially for leashes broke off and the collar broke in half. and I had to chase after him. It's not like my dog is tugging too hard as the last collar I bought him was in September 2018 and it's still usable. I only switched because this company offered a black leather collar. The collar didn't work for a part-time dog and wouldn't work for a full-time outdoor dog. Another leather collar that can still be used is "BRONZEDOG Handmade Genuine Leather Dog Collar, Leather Puppy Dog Collar, Small, Medium, Large, Pink, Red, Blue, Green, Turquoise, White, Yellow".
