Workmanship appears to be pretty good for the plastic needed to reduce the weight/lever on the vents. Just what I needed to detach to feel comfortable attaching it to my car's air vents. The ball head and clamp adjustment screws are made of metal, so you don't have to worry about durability. The inside of the adjustable phone holder feels and sounds like plastic, but doesn't feel too cheap. If it is of the same quality as the body of the device, I'm sure it will last a long time. The side pads and base are all that makes contact with the phone and is grippy enough to hold up even some of the bumps. There shouldn't be a problem with scratches even if you don't have a case. Adjusting the position after installation is not that easy, as you have to reach into a small gap between the housing and the air vent with your fingers. This will happen soon, but maybe they can make it easier in future product models. In general it is a quality product. I will update if there are any problems in the future but I don't expect them.
