I was looking for professional quality black lights and they definitely do the job. They're very different from the traditional single-tube bars you can get at party supply stores, which only glow neon lights from a few feet away. I've tested with them up to about 20 feet and they still make things shine. I bought one unit as a tester but will be buying 3 packs for an upcoming party. I believe if you place them in the right places you can light up a whole large living room or garage with just 2 devices. One block will most likely be enough for a bedroom. Light quality aside, they appear to be well constructed. The only possible issue I see, and not enough to lower my 5-star rating because it's a personal preference, is that the on/off button is on the power cord rather than the unit itself. I don't have a problem with that, but if you plan on hiding the power cord out of sight during use it might be worth considering. The cord is about 5 feet long and the on/off switch is about halfway down the cord.
