Impossible to predict when the whistle will blow
Due to the price and Made in Japan claims, I had high expectations. However, this expensive new kettle can't even perform as well, let alone perform better than my old $10 kettle. The old man always whistles reliably. After using this Japanese teapot a few times, I learned less. I developed a new habit of squeezing the kettle lid and whistle firmly before lighting the fire each time. However, the whistle is silent about a third of the time. I don't know what else to do now. It's a pain in the neck. I love Japanese products and I still have them at home. This is an exception.
