I make egg and muffin sandwiches and have microwave egg cookers, but the shapes are rounded at the bottom. So when the sandwiches are brought together, the top of the muffin will slide off. I was looking for a flat egg cooker. This egg cooker meets those requirements but is larger in diameter than any English muffin. It was made to hold two scrambled eggs with toppings like peppers and onions. It's a bit big for an egg, and boiled eggs are bigger than a muffin. It also makes the finished product thinner, which is good if you're adding meat and cheese. Overall, I like this egg cooker, even though the egg is larger than the average store-bought muffin. If you make your own English muffins like me, the egg is perfect for a 4.5 inch muffin. The sandwich fits together better and holds together better. For those who have a problem with the "explosion" of the egg, do not boil the egg on high power. It will explode every time in any oven you use. You need to boil the egg at 60-80% power and do this one minute at a time. Check every minute if the egg is done the way you want it. This depends on the power of your microwave. For a 1200w oven, use 60%. For a lower power microwave, you can use a higher percentage. To prevent sticking, coat the panel with an oil spray like Pam's.
