Perfect for wall stencils

If you have a Cameo Silhouette die cutter and want to use it to make wall stencils, these sheets are a must-buy. I tried using a heavier (thicker) paper for my cameo but I couldn't even cut it with multiple passes. While I understand that thicker paper works better for baking stencils, there are three main reasons why these thinner sheets work better for wall stencils: 1) Thinner stencils = finer detail. That's why so many professional artists love frisket. If you don't use airbrush or spray paint, some detail will be lost in a complex design. Brushes and rollers work better with thinner stencils, and this is the only way to use multiple paint colors on a single design sheet. 2) If you are using a repeating pattern (either for a wallpaper effect or a border), thinner paper will do. much better for working around corners or working on door and window trim. If you want the pattern to flow from one wall to the next without a large gap in the corner, you need to use a thinner board, which allows for more flexibility. 3) When painting on a wall (or ceiling) you are working against gravity. The heavier the sheet, the more likely it is to slip off. If it slips off, there is a risk that the paintwork, which is still wet, will be smeared. If you aren't done painting yet (e.g. a multicolored drawing where it's best to wait for one color to dry before moving on to the next) it can be difficult to get the stencil back in the right place. This can result in the flower heads sitting next to the stems rather than on top of them. Yes, thinner stencils can tear, especially when trying to peel them off a new sticky mat. As long as it's just a crack and isn't completely removed from the stencil, it shouldn't matter. You can use a small piece of tape to attach it or just use spray adhesive to stick it on the wall. I highly recommend using spray adhesive to hold the wall stencil in place while you work. I've spent a lot more stencil paper on designs that didn't cut all the way through than on torn stencils. I hope they don't stop making these 12" x 24" 4 MIL sheets. I liked them at 12" x 18" (bought a pack of 25 and two packs of 50), but they work better with a 12" x 24" silhouette cutting mat and allow me to use stencils from 18" to 23.5" without having to buy a roll of stencil badger film (my second choice). The first and third photos below show stencils made and purchased by me.
