I like how easy it is to create characters/animations that are similar in style or genre of other works. The program has many different options for making animations, which makes it really flexible if you're looking for something specific out there but don't know exactly how they would do it (such as when you want an anime look). It can be difficult at times figuring out what tools are available, especially when trying to use them all together without having to download additional programs first. If you need some help understanding any of these features, Synfig's tutorials make learning very simple. Animation skills needed to get started with this product are fairly basic. Getting into the programming aspect can take time, so maybe start small with just drawing some shapes and getting used to using keyframes before diving more deeply into programming. This helps ease any nerves you might have about not knowing where everything goes or why things work differently than expected.
