The four speeds make a big difference. Be sure your power supply is at least 2.2Amps or it won't give 4 different speeds. It's like 2 speeds when it's less. I almost returned mine because I thought it didn't work right until I discovered it needs 2.2 Amps. NOWHERE does it tell you that you need 2.2 Amps to get 4 different speeds. That's why I'm telling you. The first 2 speeds are quiet and the next 2.not so much. They're loud but not too loud. And Yes it does Push a lot of Air!
