I bought several of these. I wanted to make more room in my teenage closet and my own. I use one in her room for all of her tank tops so she can use her hangers for the rest of her clothes that need an actual hanger. If the shirts are thin, you can hang them with 2 straps, if they are thicker. In a style like Old Navy tank tops you can't do 2 straps, 2 is too thick and they will be too close together. With tank tops it doesn't take up much space, but with wider tank tops it saves hangers, but it's still bulky and takes up as much space as if everything was on a separate hanger. It would be fine for ties and bras, but not for scarves. It's too short an arm for that, unless you're an avid fan of starching and ironing your scarves as much as possible. We had some problems, some were more difficult than others and on one occasion some broke.
