This is not OEM and you will need to cut a notch for the driver's side hood latch lever, which is not difficult. Even now the grille opens about 1/4 inch on that side when I close the hood, but it doesn't come off like my old one that broke. Whether it's that cheap or OEM, I'm glad to have black grilles. The faux chrome grilles are ridiculous and even the coolest BMW looks like a joke from the front. It's a discount but still looks way better than chrome
