Review on Advanced GPS Multisport Watch with Wrist-based Heart Rate - Polar Vantage M (Lightweight Design & Latest Technology) by Jason Hayes

The watch disappoints in the main features

I bought this watch because I have been a big fan of Polar watches for many years. I upgraded from the M430, which measures heart rate and GPS distance fairly accurately with a random start delay. Vantage M was a big disappointment. The watch looks great and the battery life is fantastic, but it couldn't detect my heart rate while walking (told me over 200 a few times) or during exercise (kept my heart rate dropping and cutting out). The distance was also much shorter than the M430 and if you look at the maps it cuts corners and doesn't always follow the track. I've included workout screenshots with both devices. Customer service recommended using a heart rate strap after I sent them a few comparisons of the M430 and Vantange M, but I haven't paid that much for a watch where heart rate is the primary purpose and they fall that far. I am very disappointed with this watch and the customer support and would recommend the M430 to anyone looking for accuracy over style in wrist heart rate monitoring.
