This velcro watch strap works as it should unlike most other velcro straps. . I needed a watch strap that would keep my watch on while still allowing me to quickly take it off in a situation where it might get stuck. I'm a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary and the requirement is to wear a Velcro strap during a security patrol so you can quickly undo it in a bad situation so you don't get so snagged if the bandage gets caught on something while on duty didn't cut off your hand. The problem with almost ALL velcro watch straps is that the strap stays in place because the sharp end goes through the plastic loop on the strap. Ironically, the reason for a velcro watch strap is obsolete as the plastic loop still doesn't allow you to quickly remove this watch in an emergency. This Kavu watch strap only works fully thanks to the velcro that keeps it on the wrist. If you need to take it off quickly, just pull the strap and it will fall freely. I have tried to inform others who must use velcro that their velcro is still dangerous and will not detach from the wrist with a pull on the end of the strap.
