It seemed completely unnecessary. After all, all my life I've wrapped my wet hair in ordinary towels. But it cuts my hair drying time down more than a towel. I also have chronic neck pain and the weight of the towel on my head when getting dressed was uncomfortable. This wrap isn't the most flattering look, but who cares. It works well.
