Small but nice! Suitable for Salt & Pepper

Firstly I read several reviews that said this grinder is surprisingly small. Even so, I was still surprised by its tiny size. It's small! When seated in the bowl, it's only 4 3/8 inches from the flat bottom to the highest point of the crank. As a female I have fairly large hands and I could see that this item would be difficult to use for someone whose hands are much larger than mine. At the same time, excellent pepper flours are obtained from this product! I am the disaffected owner of a $150 pepper mill that has caused me more grief than any pepper mill is worth. While looking for a replacement I saw this amazingly crafted gem and thought it might be worth a try. For the price unbeatable! And the decorative flair it brings to my kitchen is an added bonus. It is really nice. In addition, it grinds gently, evenly and efficiently. The instructions say to grind dry rice through before use, which is what I did. This rice was quite difficult to crank and I was afraid it would be the same with pepper. However, I was pleasantly surprised that with the help of a few light holds, he drove off the peppers with ease. The only downside is the slot that Paprika loads into. It's tiny, which makes filling a bit awkward. I want to load it with a funnel the size of a peppercorn. But I did it and am happy with my new pepper mill. Would I buy it again? Of course!
