Test: REMOVE THE STRAW, fill 1/3 with water indoors, seal, take outside where it is much warmer, turn and see if it's leaking as the air inside heats up and expands. This water bottle passed. Removing the straw was necessary because if the water bottle was upside down, the straw would direct air to the spout and the leak (if any) would go unnoticed. I don't use a straw because when I drink from a water bottle I take the whole cap off and drink. It only takes a few seconds to drink about 16 ounces this way. The water level is easy to see when you're close, but not so much from afar. It's a nice water bottle, but I'm more of a tactile person. The texture and feel of the surface of the bottle is pleasant.
