what you see is what you get

Thanks to subscription boxes, I have an excess of bars of handmade soap. I want to use them rather than let them go to waste (they're not factory sealed so they can't be donated), so I decided to start using bar soap to wash my hands instead of liquid soap (I've never been into the antibacterial thing anyway). But I needed a proper soap dish so I bought this.I chose this dish because it looked as though it would accommodate a variety of sizes of soap (not all my bars are a standard size/shape). It is a bit on the small side for my largest bars (5 ounce squares), although they *do* fit (they just don't neatly rest in the middle depression). Smaller and narrower bars fit quite well, and lie in the depression. This is an attractive color that will match a lot of decor schemes. It's pretty simple -- just a concave (narrowly) circular dish with a bit of a lip. There are no drainage holes so do be aware of that and watch for any water accumulation so you can dump it out. This is heavy enough that it won't move under normal circumstances, although you could also attach a piece of felt or rubber to the bottom to make it less likely to slide.Mine arrived intact, with no chips or cracks. The surface was smooth and the natural stone pattern was lovely. This is not the cheapest soap dish available on Walmart, but I am happy with the choice I made.

Pros
  • Provides a stable and slip-free surface for your soap bar
Cons
  • May require frequent replacement for frequent soap users
