Although I read many reviews about how fragile this inflow was, I still wanted to try it. It arrived well packaged and was easy to assemble. In the first few weeks he was great. As expected, algae grew on it over time. There have been cases where the skimmer has been sucked in and caused a clog in the primary pipe. I would take the skimmer out and give it and the intake tube a good clean. However, I was not able to clean the inside of the primary tube. At first I tried to pull the base out with a rubber stopper, but it wouldn't budge. I tried to gently pull all the inflow out of the tank to clean it and it broke. I had 4.5 months. If you don't plan on removing the inflow after installation, a great product. However, if you decide to take it out to clean it, be careful as it is a very fragile device. It will grow algae if placed near natural light. The skimmer works great, but sometimes it gets sucked in and clogged by the inflow. Instead of reordering, I decided on a stainless steel inlet with a skimmer. This seems to be what people who have used both glass and stainless steel recommend.
