This peeler works exactly as intended. Follow the instructions for preparing eggs as they cook. When the device starts to work, it "grabs" the shell and begins to pull. Any damage to the egg is caused by the yolk being too close to the shell. Upon examining the shell that was not working, there was no egg white on the shell itself. I processed about 200 eggs and got 80% good eggs. In a similar manual test, we found an average of 80% good eggs. I suggest starting with the "airbag" or the larger end of the egg. (Read: opposite the pointed page) This will greatly speed up the process. This device is definitely a time saver.
