You know it's funny. I have never had to buy a frying pan in my life, for wherever I went there was a hearth, and where there was a hearth there was always a large and heavy brazier. That is, until I retired and bought my current house. Good appliances but no frying pan. This led me to discover that not ALL grill pans were huge! I live alone and rarely cook for company and I'm not a spring chicken anymore so I love this little room! It's like a sports car - high-quality materials and workmanship, but compact. Room for me and a friend and it's big enough and way more fun! If I had to clean a big one, I would use it less often - it's just a fact. This pan is easy to clean and fits easily in my small sink. It can be washed in the dishwasher, but I found it looked brand new when hand washed instead. The dishwasher was temporarily dimmed. I am very happy with my little fire bowl. Buy one and make yourself a delicious filet mignon. Or use the base to cook baked chicken breasts or bake rolls for dinner. It will do far more good in my home than all my previous grill pans combined!
