I'm a software developer. I learned Linux about 14 years ago, starting with Gentoo. I'm very capable of getting even the worst software to work. When it comes to Wi-Fi cards, many of them, I swear, were NOT specifically designed to work with Linux. However, this worked immediately on my Ubuntu laptop, my Debian 9 (Stretch) desktop and my Windows desktop. No fiddling with ndiswrapper and the like. I'll probably stock up on some of these before they go away. This USB drive is exactly pauo5, which looks like a flash drive without external antennas. On Linux this is reported with lsusb -vBus 001 Device 004: ID 148f:5372 Ralink Technology, Corp. 0x148f Ralink Technology Corp. idProduct 0x5372 RT5372 bcdDevice 1.01 WiFi adapter iManufacturer 1 Ralink iProduct 2 802.11n WiFi
