We love, love, love them and they work great as soon as you touch the connectors! I attached them to the underside of my daughter's loft bed to bring more light onto her desk. White light is great for this and she loves to hang out under colored lights. Two things: 1. The colors on the remote control were completely off and didn't match the backlight colors. It's not a big deal - now she knows the green button goes light purple, the yellow button turns pink etc - but it would certainly be better if they were coordinated. 2. Instructions for attaching the corners were somewhat missing and would have been better written for a beginner. A tip: the adhesion is really good, so when using the elbows, leave the backing paper on until you snap the elbow into place. I found it easier to make contact with the electrical connectors when the sticky backing wasn't sticky, making it difficult to push the connectors together. I had to repeat what I did without the pad because the lights wouldn't come on because the connectors weren't touching. (Welcome :) Even with these problems, the light is great!
