works as stated. Keep in mind that you'll have to get a little creative with a wired mouse, but it will work. The only possible problem I see is that while this wheel is spinning and the motor is holding it in that position, the motor is getting hot. Just keep it on a hard surface with no cloth or mouse pad underneath. To be honest I haven't measured how hot it gets, but it works exactly the same. Now using a wireless mouse (which is what it's designed for) and leaving the engine plugged in will prevent the computer from going to sleep, going into a screen saver, or staying logged in indefinitely. I bought this for my work computer as it is set to go to sleep if not used for 5 minutes. We have to move away from the computer several times a day for one reason or another and now I just put the mouse on the steering wheel and when I come back I sit down and pick up where I left off! I'd probably go with a USB mouse shaker, but it can detect that unknown device when you plug it in. They can't!
