I bought an expensive Sony DSLR, at least for me, and wasn't happy with the difficulty of use or the quality of the photos. Plus the size and weight of the DSLR was a pain. I took better photos with Lumix and Sony H50 than with DSLR. So I sold it at a loss and bought a NEX-3. Very glad I did. I get better photos than a DSLR from day one and the NEX is easier to use, but I also have a lot of options and interchangeable lenses. Without a flash, it takes good pictures even in low light. The video is good too, although I didn't buy it for the video. I'm happy with all the features of this camera, although I haven't been able to get good results freezing moving objects. Probably me, not the camera. I only have an 18-55mm lens - I took it for its flexibility. I see no point in 16mm. I will add a screw to the 2.5x adapter lens with a 49-52mm converter ring to expand the range rather than paying a fortune for a 55-200mm lens. I also purchased an LA_EA1 autofocus adapter to use the Sony 55-200 SAL A-mount lens with this camera. That's another story and I'll cover it separately. If I lost this camera today, I would buy another one tomorrow.
