My daughter wears it to school every day. She's six years old and wears this because she's "outgrown" hats with straps, as she says they're for babies. Fits snugly against the head, is very warm*(we live in Minnesota) and doesn't fall off. I've washed it cold and put it through a gentle dryer and so far nothing has frayed or clumped. Great hat!
