If you are allergic to nickel (and I am, and based on the description I believe it is trustworthy) be careful. Pleasantly surprised. The staff pendant is a good weight and appears to be of good quality and the chain has not turned my skin green or caused any problems so it appears to be described accurately. I have both yellow gold and white gold and they are equally good. For this price you can't go wrong. UPDATE: I'm annoyed and disappointed. I agree with the description that the body of the chain is nickel free but the extension is definitely not. I've worn this all winter, no problem, but I wore it on a hot afternoon this summer. After sweating a little, my throat started itching. I didn't think about it much, but after putting it on a few weeks later, I got huge welts on my neck where the extension touched my skin. This area also turned greenish-black.
