Review on Pet πŸšͺ Door Small - RuffWeather by Kristi Green

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good door size for a cat

We ordered a Ruff Weather Pet Door for our indoor/outdoor cat. He is medium height and this door is perfect for him. Installation was pretty easy. We had no problems installing it. It took our cat a long time to get used to it. He doesn't like to get out, but has no problem getting in when it's cold. My main issue is that the magnetic stripe on the bottom doesn't work. The door leaf magnet should pull the magnet up from the bottom to seal it when the pet enters the door, but it doesn't. Both sides are glued, leaving a small gap through which the wind blows. I have a feeling this will be a problem in the summer as all manner of creepy little caterpillars can invade. Also, the temperatures have been in the single digits this week and the flaps seem to be pretty stiff that they don't want to close. Overall, this is a decent pet door and does the job, but the lack of a proper gasket at the bottom needs improvement. Update 10/14/2020: We installed this pet door almost 4 years ago. That was great. Our cat can get in and out with it easily. A broken seal will let in cold drafts in winter, but not too bad. to know something Our cat has brought nasty "gifts" through this door on a number of occasions, so just keep that in mind when choosing a pet door.
