The pants are good because my daughter was warm and the fabric dries quickly (compared to her friend's pants, hers were wet) after the first 13-inch snowstorm. However, the waist is narrow. Not usable for more than one season even with velcro so she will most likely pass it on to her sister. We booked Wednesday and our daughter is 9 1/2 and a gymnast so not chubby. So just think about your child's physique when choosing this product. If it wasn't for the waist I would have given 5 stars.
