This is a very generous package of three beautiful and seemingly effective products. But I have a feeling that not all of these are necessary for true beard grooming and that the saying "two out of three isn't bad" is true. I don't know if this is intentional or presented as a three part system, but it doesn't have to be. We have three different products in the beard care category, each doing different things in different ways. Let's look at them in the likely order of their use. Let's start with beard washing in the shower. This seems to be the least useful and the biggest trick of the three. It's like a lightweight, watery shampoo in a bottle with one of those sudsy dispensers. Pump it up and you have a beautifully scented soap slide in the palm of your hand. This could easily be applied anywhere, but I believe it gives an illusion that it will penetrate deep into a thick beard more effectively than say a bar of soap. Its value compared to regular shampoo and conditioner is questionable. Also, I had a bit of a hard time measuring it out because the smooth bottle got slippery in the shower. Air conditioning is unique in my experience. We have a beard product with a cool-whip consistency that doesn't smell too different. It works well in the beard and disappears quickly (which is good). I'm not sure the beard feels better prepared, although it can't hurt. This is an exceptional product. All this to say that I have found a conditioner to solve the problem of dandruff on my beard. This is an optional step in beard grooming, but a man may need it from time to time. Beard oil is a well-known member of this trio and is well in its class. The bottle cap is a simple flip top cap and the product works well. The aroma is light and neutral, reminds me of vanilla. The oil seems to maintain well and is not greasy. As a beard oil I would say it is very good and I have tried many of them. All in all, this might make a thoughtful gift for those with beards in your world, but I wouldn't normally bother with two of them. Three steps - Beards are not that complicated. I am impressed by TCM.
