High noise level when heating, cooling and air quality

I bought this beautiful humidifier to use in my bedroom. I just plugged it in, plugged it in, and turned it on. First I noticed the very high pitched noise he made until he went to bed. This is a deal breaker. Too bad because it seems to work well and looks good. But the noise is annoying to say the least. Will return it as is when not used for my bedroom.
