Yes, I'm still clinging to my primitive 2nd generation iPod shuffle. Why not? This dork has survived everything I have to offer, from off-road driving to soaking in a hot tub, being kicked, dropped and (probably) attacked by my cat. So when I broke my docking port while moving from LA to Burbank and found I could no longer get my charger from Apple stores, I jumped at the chance and bought this universal version. It looks cheap and appears to be cheaper, but looks can be deceiving. My old battered iPod plugged right in and charged instantly, and there were no communication issues between the device and my rather cranky old version of iTunes. Nothing more to say. It's a very lightweight little port, maybe a little oversized, but it weighs nothing and runs on a standard USB cable that's about 2 feet long. Oh, it has a "wall" of sorts to the loading mandrel, so if you step on it the chances of bending the mandrel and ruining the block (which happened on my old one) are a little less. That's it. It was cheap, works great, arrived quickly and in the condition promised. I'm happy.
